I stand corrected. These pictures have spread around the internet and I have seen them on a few sites. I have fixed the information above.

For future reference, anyone who does not receive credit for their contributions (voluntary or not) please notify me immediately. As you know it is difficult to figure out who originated a picture on the internet, but if you feel it is yours, I will be more than happy to fix it.

Sorry if that caused any problems.

Hey Dan, did you ever find any good shots of the sleeve gussets? For some reason I don't think they go half way up the sleeve like the Vanson and Bates. Can you confirm this?

Oh yeah, ask and ye shall receive...I needed this detail for something coming  ... and you are correct, they are a bit shorter than the X1, going 2/3 the way up the forearm. And notice that for the gusset color it is the same blue as used on the center arm stripe.

Damn, you are good! This is my favorite X-Men jacket and the blue accents for the gussets make it even better looking. Thanks for that picture.

Cool! I actually like the blue in the gussets...The gold that is in the standard Vanson and Bates is just too bright for me. The blue is more subdued and since the gussets are smaller, they don't stand out too much. Just a nice accent. Thanks man.

A few more pictures were added to the first post although they cannot do justice to Dan's original screen caps. They may help show a little more detail in some areas.

Just to make sure we have all the info possible... Wested does make a sorry attempt at this jacket, but instead of taking all the detail specs I had sent them last fall, they took shortcuts and barely modded their X1 to an X3.

Well we can now add AbbyShot as a replica maker of this jacket, although still not a very good replica, it has one or two details that are better than the Wested version...but still nowhere near as good as the version I have coming.

The AbbyShots, you'll notice as being wrong, has a seam down the middle of the back, the sleeve stripes are a bit off, as well as the chest pocket zippers. The leather also looks a bit thin, and there is no blue in the sleeve cuff gusset.
AbbyShot does have a decent attempt at the stitch line accent across the shoulder, a correct rounded collar closure, a pretty close to correct kidney section on the back, and an attempt at the long and vertical look to the chest zippers even though they are a bit off.

Hmm, not really crazy about it. I actually like the PD version better. Ya know what's funny about this jacket? It's not nearly as detailed as the X1 or X2 (especially X2) and no one can quite get it right (yet 8) ). Seems like they just slap some stripes on a jacket and call it a day.

X2 is definitely the most detailed, and no one had even attempted it's replica until Davidyr1... I think X3 is just about as detialed as the X1 though, if not just a hair more in the subtleties.

I'm with you on AbbyShot' not doing anything for me either. 8)

True. The X3 lacks the waist stripes, but I agree that it's in the subtle details like the shoulder seam and back panel that evens it out.
